The demonstrations at the Safety Fair were interesting for all ages. Each exhibitor showed how they handle certain emergency situations.
A highlight of National Preparedness Month is Staunton's Safety Fair that took place this year on Saturday at Net Community Church. The Staunton Area Emergency Management Council sponsored the event with the purpose of prepar- ing for emergencies before they occur.
For three hours exhibitors demonstrated emergency equipment and provided safety in- formation.
The Staunton Fire Protection District, Staunton Police Department, Staunton Public School, Community Hospital of Staunton, Arch Helicop- ter, Heritage Health, Net Community Church, Illinois State Police, Madison Communications, and the Madison County Sheriff's Department all gave highly useful information dealing with their particular area of expertise.
Madison Communications, Staunton FFA and Net Community Church provided free food and drinks during the event.
