Volleyball girls first home game coming up Won 2nd place in tournament to open season

The Staunton High School varsity volleyball Bulldogs opened their season on the road playing in the Springfield Lutheran Tourney on Aug. 26. They won their neutral tournament match against Springfield by a score of 2-0.

Also on Aug. 26, the Lady Bulldogs won their neutral match against Porta/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg) by a score of 2-1.

On Aug. 27, the Staunton team won their neutral tournament match against Routt Catholic (Jacksonville) by a score of 2-0.

No score was reported for Staunton vs. Rockbridge County, and no score was reported for Staunton vs. Hartsburg-Emden.

The girls took 2nd place in the tournament. Their overall record stands at 3-1.

Thursday, Sept. 1, they will play their home opener at 5 p.m. vs. Nashville.

The Lady Bulldogs have a busy week scheduled as they play in the Tiger Classic Sept. 2 and 3; then return home to play Williamsville on Sept. 6 and Piasa Southwestern on Sept. 8.
