Denise Durr, 64, of Dorchester, Ill., died at her home on Sunday Aug. 14, 2022. She was born on Dec. 22, 1959.
Denise spent time working on grants and donations for communities such as the Summerfield Park and arranging poker runs and fundraisers for various motorcycle clubs and causes. In recent years, she developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and Lake Gillespie and had a cabin there. She was raised Catholic and practiced her faith through various acts of service.
Surviving are her husband, Henry Lee Durr; daughters, Jodi Limper, Virginia Lugge, Bobbie McCloud; sons, Brandon Durr, Samuel Durr; grandchildren, Hannah Chopwiskyj, Jeren Chopwiskyj, Ransom Lugge, Rallye Lugge, Madison McCloud, Delia Sybert, Addison Durr, Jake Durr, Paisley Durr; sister, Jaime Ponder; brothers, Douglas Schmidt, Larry Schmidt, Lee Jay Martin; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Martin-Schmidt; her fathers, John Tisdale and Bill Schmidt; her sister, Patricia Tisdale-Dunahee; brother, Robert Martin; nephew, Jason Hensler; and niece, Michelle Schmidt.
A celebration of life was held at Runway Lounge in Bethalto on Aug. 20. Kravanya Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
