Patrick “Pat” Aron Cunningham, 45, of New Douglas, Ill., died Friday, July 29, 2022. He was born on April 22, 1977, in Staunton.
Patrick attended Highland High School and moved on to a career in landscape/design. Patrick was a loving father and a pillar in his community. Always offering service to anyone in need–from volunteering at soup kitchens and food drives to moving tree limbs out of roads and lawns–he was defined by his selflessness.
He leaves behind two daughters, Hannah Cunningham and Adisyn Cunningham; three sisters, Emily Cunningham, Melissa Cunningham, Paula Cruthis; his mother, Rebecca “Becky”Harmon; his father, Gerald “Jerry” Cunningham; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, JoHanna King, maternal grandfather, Charles King, paternal grandmother, Bea Busse; stepmother, Virginia “Ginger” Cunningham; stepfather, Thomas Harmon; and stepbrother, Jeffrey Kassing.
Family members hosted a celebration of life on Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Livingston Park in Livingston. Another celebration of Patrick’s life for family and friends will take place in New Douglas at a later date.
