Garino

Gloria Garino, 94, of Staunton, Ill., died at The Glenwood in Staunton, on Friday, July 22, 2022. She was born on Aug. 30, 1927, in Williamson, a daughter of the late Leandro and Anna Hasko Brun. She married Aldo Garino on June 28, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2013.

Gloria worked at Western Cartridge in Alton from 1946 to 1951, then at Mallinckrodt Chemical in St. Louis, Mo., until after her marriage. She later worked at Sears Catalog Store in Staunton in the early 1970s. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared for other family members in their times of need. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton. She was a graduate of Livingston High School in Livingston and a graduate of St. Louis Business School in St. Louis.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Melissa) Garino of Columbia, Mo., Terry Garino of Albuquerque, N.M .; four grandchildren, Anthony Garino of Las Vegas, Nev., Mia, Olivia, and Charles Garino of Columbia, Mo .; two sisters, Flo Stewart of Chesterfield, Mo., Nancy Brun of St. Peters, Mo .; and several nieces.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at Williamson Funeral Home with Father Thomas Hagstrom officiating. Interment will be in Staunton City Cemetery.
