Alvera W. Conroy, 101, of Staunton, Ill., died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Heri- tage Health in Staunton. She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Mark and Olinda (Gusewelle) Hambleton. She married Denver Conroy, and he preceded her in death in Febru-
ary of 1979.
She was a homemaker. She

She is survived by one son, Alan Conroy (Doris Knop) of Staunton; four grandchildren, Nicole (Ty) Bowser of Troy, Amanda (Rick) Garbin, Denny Conroy, and Whitney (Tony) DalPozzo, all of Staunton; three great-grandchildren, Camden and Chloe Bowser, Ryker DalPozzo; two sisters, Gladys Suhrenbrock of Staunton and Doris Schmidt. Besides her husband and par- ents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Kuba; and two brothers, Orville and Eldon Hambleton.
Private graveside services will be held on Monday, June 27, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
