Kasubke now playing for ISU - Normal

Two years ago, Kansas State head basketball coach Bruce Weber recruited Chaminade grad Luke Kasubke to play for his Kansas State Wildcats. Earlier this year, Weber and his entire staff resigned their coaching positions.

With a new head coach, staff and basketball philosophy at K-State, eight of their current players either graduated or put themselves in the transfer portal. Luke was one of those who entered the transfer portal.

After carefully considering the several D-1 offers he received, many of them from Missouri Valley Conference schools, Luke decided to transfer to Illinois State University in Normal. The new Illinois State head coach is Ryan Pedon who was the assistant head coach at Ohio State and had actively recruited Luke two years ago to play at Ohio State.

Luke is the second D-1 player in his family. His sister Katie played four years of softball at Loyola University, also a Missouri Valley School.

Luke is the son of Bret and Michelle Kasubke of Dardenne Prairie, Mo., and grandson of Don and Marie Kasubke of Staunton and Donna Hennen of Lake St. Louis, Mo.
