Bank of Hillsboro is proud to welcome Megan Wood as its new Edwardsville branch manager. Wood joined the bank six years ago as a part-time teller and then became a loan processor. She was offered the position of branch manager in December and transitioned into the role in April.
"Megan has always prioritized her relationships with our customers at Bank of Hillsboro," said Bank of Hillsboro Senior Vice President Mike Ward. "We are excited to see how Megan runs this branch and know that she will continue growing our customer base here in Edwardsville through building lasting relationships."
Wood's responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations within the entire branch, opening accounts, making sure employees stay organized and continuing to instill the best customer service.
"With my new role as branch manager, I want to keep growing Bank of Hillsboro's name recognition within the community," said Wood. "I want people to know what we have to offer and know we look at our customers as people, not just an account number."
The Edwardsville branch's previous manager, Lisa Claytor, recently retired after 40 years in the banking industry. Wood said she has similar management styles to Claytor and hopes to continue her legacy within the branch.
"Lisa has been a wonderful mentor to me," Wood said. "I'm so thankful for the family I have within Bank of Hillsboro and I am so blessed to be sitting here today."
Wood is originally from Charleston, Ill., and moved to Edwardsville 16 years ago. Wood and her fiance Jason have a 9-year-old daughter and two dogs, Kingston and Quincy.
