Doty

Jean Kay Doty, 81, died at her home in Mt. Olive, Ill., on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Jean was born on Dec. 11, 1940, in Litchfield to Melbourne and Mabel (Hunsinger) Bohlen. She married Ken Doty on Feb. 12, 1960, and they later divorced. She married Russell Miller on June 29, 1987, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1990. Jean remarried Ken Doty on Nov. 21, 2002, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2017.

She attended Mt. Olive Schools and graduated with the Class of 1958. After graduation, she attended nursing training doing internship at Staunton Hospital. With her mother, she started Mae-Jean Poodle Towne in 1968 and continued it until 2001.

Jean is survived by her children, Corine (Connie) Malone, Kenneth (Ricky) Doty Jr., and Eric Werner; grandchildren, Walter Wallace, Amy (Wallace) and husband James O'Brien, Ronnie Crider and wife LaTisha (Wilson), Destiny Crider, Kammy Carney, Elizabeth (Malone) and husband Theodore Alexander, Rebecca (Malone) and husband Joe Reiniesch, Holly Doty, Mary Doty and Hope Werner. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands; her daughter, Roxanne (Roxie) Kuni; and three grandchildren, David Doty, Donnie Malone and Amanda Malone.

Funeral services were held at Becker and Son Funeral Home on Monday, May 2, with Rev. Tommy Brewer officiating.
