Local groups and organizations have once again been very generous in supporting the graduates of Staunton High School. The following scholarships were awarded during the graduation ceremony held on Friday, May 13.
The Barbara Yakos and Patricia Long English Scholarship was awarded to Samuel Best and Lily Bruhn.
The Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Scholarship was presented to Joseph Cisler.
The Delbert W. Stiegemeier Scholarship was presented to Colin Mullinex.
The George Oehler Jr. Memorial Scholarships sponsored by the Staunton American Legion Post #362 were given as follows:
• The first special memorial scholarship in memory of George Oehler Jr. was awarded to Savannah Billings.
• The second special memorial scholarship in memory of Legion Member Larry “Fox” Bellovich was awarded to Ty Abernathy.
• The third special memorial scholarship in memory of Legion Member Robert Vojas was awarded to Gracie Raymond.
• The fourth special memorial scholarship in memory of Legion Member Richard “Pops” Ebersohl was awarded to Noah Partridge.
The His Service Station scholarships were awarded to Joseph Cisler, Koral Keehner and Gracie Raymond.
The Jamie Jo Broderick Fernandez Scholarship for seniors intending to major in Education was awarded to Brooke Kinder.
The Lynn Schmidt Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Brianna Hainaut and Ryan Strebel.
The MCDFF Jeff DalPozzo Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Grace Bandy, Colin Mullenix and Noah Partridge.
The Midwest Technical Institute High School Senior Scholarships were awarded to Colin Mullenix, Cayden Newman, Caleb Partridge and Ryan Strebel.
The Nancy Mayfield-Holtorf Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Ty Abernathy, Brooke Kinder and Alivia Taylor.
The SHS Academic Merit Scholarships were awarded to Jonathan Daugherty and Teagan Lorenz.
The SHS Technology Scholarship was awarded to Caleb Partridge.
Southwestern Electric Cooperative $1000 scholarship was awarded to Holly DeVries.
The Staunton Education Foundation Scholarships were awarded to Samuel Best, Jonathan Daugherty, Noah Partridge and Jordan Staggs.
The Staunton Fire Department Scholarships were awarded to Holly DeVries, Caleb Partridge, Noah Partridge, and Alivia Taylor.
The Staunton Lions Club Scholarship was awarded to Koral Keehner.
The Staunton Sports Booster Club Scholarships were awarded to Samuel Best, Savannah Billings, Joseph Goss, Brooke Kinder, Noah Partridge, and Cayden Silvester.
The Tori Carroll Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Ty Abernathy, Brooke Kinder, Colin Mullenix, Caleb Partridge and Noah Partridge.
The Touchdown Club Scholarships, sponsored by Jaguar Junior Football, were awarded to Samuel Best, Hunter Booth, Caleb Partridge and Noah Partridge.
The Trooper Kyle Deatherage Scholarship was awarded to Alivia Taylor.
The Warren J. Bequette Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Teagan Lorenz and Noah Partridge.
Two students from this year’s graduating class are enlisting in the military. Brianna Hainaut has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Adrianna Wilkinson will enlist in the United States Navy.
