Sullivan

LaMoine C. Sullivan, 95, of Staunton, Ill., died May 3, 2022, at Heritage Manor in Staunton. She was born July 6, 1926, in Staunton, the daughter of the late Henry and Ella Hasse. She married James F. Sullivan on May 26, 1951. James preceded her in death in 2014.

After graduating from Staunton High School in 1944, she attended the University of Illinois, studying architecture, and she assisted her father, Henry Hasse, in his construction firm in Staunton. She and James moved to Baltimore, and she worked at Towson University while James worked for the Government Records center. In late 1951, they moved back to Staunton. LaMoine was a homemaker then became a secretary at Staunton High School for over 28 years. She also worked for the superintendent's office in Carlinville. She continued to work in other jobs throughout the community well into her 70s. She was an avid bowler well into her 80s and even joined Dick Weber in an exhibition bowling event at The Alleys in Staunton.

Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Margaret) Sullivan, and Don Sullivan; her grandchildren, Preston (Allie) Sullivan, Aubrey (James) Balman, Justin Sullivan, Dillon Sullivan, Dan Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Blaize, Azlynn, Ruby, and Talulla Balman, and Annabelle Sullivan.

Private interment of cremains will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. The family will host a celebration of life in LaMoine's honor at a later date.
