There were 28 juniors and seniors inducted into the Staunton High School Chapter of the National Honor Society on April 21.

Danielle Stout and Timothy Ott were married Oct. 19, 1996, in Joliet.

Jack W. Maxvill Sr. (52) of Staunton, formerly of Gillespie, died April 9 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Hugh “Hutch” Doss Powell (57) of Staunton died April 8 at his residence.

Gladys C. Huffman (81) of Staunton died April 11 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Lillian Dow Binney (83), formerly of Staunton, died April 5 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, La.

Oreste “Rusty” Bombardieri (83) of Florissant, Mo., died April 4 at Christian Hospital.

Drina C. Visingardi (91), formerly of Staunton, died April 13 at Aurora Manor Center in Aurora, Ill.

William Joseph Hudzik (26) of Mt. Olive died April 10 at his home.

John “Pat” Stoklosa (88) of Joliet Township, formerly of Staunton, died April 8 at Vencor Hospital in North Lake.

Stella “Ruth” Scanzoni (69) of Williamson died April 5 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

Charles Arthur Eugene Wolf (67) of Staunton died April 13 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Ethel Parker (90) of Staunton died April 14 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Issue of April 18, 2007

A fire on April 10 at the apartment of Sam and Judy Valerio in Staunton destroyed many of their belongings.

Three Benld boys, Logan and Austin Cooper and Drew Crook, were honored for bravery by Sheriff Don Albrecht for their actions during a dog attack on Austin last November. Benld Police Officer David Reno also received a commendation for his actions.

The Staunton High School Choir presented their dinner theater entitled On Broadway! on Friday and Saturday.

A son was born to Brad and Dana Neuhaus on March 2.
