SHS Baseball Bulldogs lose 2 on the road

The Staunton High School baseball Bulldogs were on the road last week.

They were in Lincolnwood on Monday, March 21 and lost to the Lancers 5-8.

Scoring for Staunton, Adam Overby, Sam Best (2), Cole Allen and Cody Ury.

Hits/RBIs were by Best 2/0, Luke Meyer 2/2, Ury 1/1, Cayden Silvester 1/1, and Allen 1/0.

Brady Gillen took the loss for Staunton. He pitched 3 innings, struck out 6, walked 3, gave up 2 hits and 3 runs. Meyer pitched 2 innings, struck out 2, walked none, gave up 2 hits and 1 run. D. Prichett was on the mound for 1 inning. He walked 4, gave up 1 hit and 4 runs.

On Friday, March 25th, the Bulldogs traveled to Breese Center and lost to the Cougars 2-12 in a five inning game.

Brady Gillen and Sam Best each scored a run for the Bulldogs. Hits were by Gillen and Luke Meyer (2). RBIs were by Meyer and Matthew Sievers.

Best pitched 1.1 innings, struck out 1, walked 2, gave up 3 hits and 4 runs (1 earned). Meyer pitched 3.1 innings. He struck out 2, walked 2, gave up 4 hits and 8 runs (2 earned).

The Bulldogs were scheduled to play two home games this week (3/28 vs Hillsboro and 3/29 vs Auburn) and will be on the road today, March 30, for a 4:30 p.m.game at Calhoun (Hardin).
