Sies

Louvine J. Sies, 92, of Mt. Olive, Ill., died at Heritage Health of Gillespie on Monday, March 14, 2022. She was born April 18, 1929, in Hillsboro, to Henry and Charlotte (Best) Gieseking. She married Richard J. Sies in June 1947. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1986. She married Darrell Crowe in May 2008, and he survives.

She was a farmer. Louvine was a member of the Local 88 American Federation of Musicians. She played six instruments. She was in the Dick Sies Orchestra. She played in five municipal bands, the Blackburn College Band, Prairie Winds Jazz Ensemble and Crystal Images Big Band. She was an avid lover of cars and dogs. She was a volunteer at Adopt-A-Pet and a professional dog groomer. She was a member of the Flying Farmers of America and enjoyed traveling in the family private plane all over North America. She enjoyed horses and yard work. She loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Crowe of Mt. Olive; daughters, Pamela (Steve) Rademacher of Gillespie, Joann Bellm of Gillespie; granddaughters, Anastasia Henderson (fiancé, Wade Harbaugh), Alexandrea Weinberg (companion, Steven Turner), Michele Bellm, (companion, Dennis Miller); and seven great-great-grandchildren. Louvine was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; great-grandson, John Henderson; and grandson-in-law, James Henderson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 19, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial was at Mt. Olive City Cemetery.
