Violet R. Felchner, 91, of Staunton, Ill., died at Heritage Health in Staunton on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022. She was born on March 9, 1930, in Mutual, Colo., a daughter of the late Jack and Mary (Christelli) Martinelli. She married Robert Felchner on Oct. 16, 1952, in Staunton, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2000.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton and did the church laundry for over 50 years. Vi was a seamstress for years. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis Felchner of Scottsville, Ky., Gene (Cheryl) Felchner of Springfield, and Jack (Cindy) Felchner of Worden; seven grandchildren, Jeff Felchner, Stacy Felchner, John (Jessica) Felchner, Joe (Danyelle) Felchner, Allison Felchner, Luke (Becky) Felchner, Lindsay Felchner (Clay Bush); five great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Martinelli of Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Mary Martinelli of Staunton, Florence Felchner of Staunton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Art Martinelli.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Staunton. A Memorial Mass will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
