Concordia Hall in Staunton has been making improvements in an effort to secure both their financial future and their ability to support community events.
In addition to the hall which is available for rentals, the outside bar is open to the public and has become a popular gathering place. In an effort to make it even more attractive and comfortable, they updated, painted, added a security system, a cooler, tables, chairs, bar stools, four new picnic tables, and outside air conditioner fans.
Downstairs they have added a bowling shoe cabinet and ball rack. They plan to continue their Red Pin/Gold Pin and Mardi Gras (Purple Pin/Gold Pin) and Glow Bowl events.
Annual fund-raising events at Concordia include meat shoots, pork steak dinners, backyard BBQ, Bags Tournament, Golf Outing and the Rolling Thunder Rally which will start Memorial Day weekend.
Much of their work/funds go to support community projects including their Trunk or Treat Halloween party, donations to our schools, Kids Christmas program, Helping Hands, and the Joe Hemp and Jason Rae Scholarships. Members also worked the Make-a-Wish benefit and sold pink ribbons for October Breast Cancer Awareness.
Concordia is a non-profit membership organization that is open to the public. Membership is also open but you do not need to be a member to enjoy the facilities.
