Loralee F. Sciranko, 87, of Gillespie, Ill., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022. She was born July 26, 1934, in Harvel, a daughter of the late James W. and Mary Eileen (Floyd) Pickerill. She married Andrew “Duce” Sciranko Jr. on July 25, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2009.
She was a homemaker. Over the years, she also worked at Sears Catalog Store in Staunton, the Ben Franklin store in Staunton, Staunton Country Club, and at City Package Liquor in Staunton. She also worked the election polls in Staunton for many years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton, and was a member of the Staunton Country Club. She enjoyed her dog Bella, social media, and visiting family.
She is survived by three sons, Alan Sciranko of Staunton, Brian (Jackie) Sciranko of Edwardsville, Kevin (Helen) Sciranko of St. Louis, Mo .; two grandchildren Bryn and Bryson Sciranko; six sisters, Mary Ann Scopel, Betty Filiphovich, Geraldine Bayse, Connie Provost, Norma (Ernie) Parish, A.J. Darneal; one brother, William (Rosemarie) Pickerill; sister-in-law, Dolores Kieffer Mosley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Kenneth, Dale, and Larry Pickerill.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
