Sheryl Elaine Halpin, 71, of Dorchester, Ill., died at her residence on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. She was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Springfield, to Richard and Beverly (Killen) Arvin. She married James Anthony "Jim" Halpin on June 24, 1989. He survives.
She was an administrator for Community Care. Sheryl was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Bunker Hill. She enjoyed cooking, ceramics and loved her dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Halpin of Dorchester; children, Michael Yvonne (Mark) Sandwick of Morriston, Fla., Jennifer Burton of Waco, Texas, Dan (Michelle) Fox of Gillespie; grandchildren, Dylan Fox, Cassie Fisher, Eli Fox; siblings, Debra (Gary) Boatman of Springfield, Patti (Pete) Rooney of Chatham, Janet (Gary) Stierlin of Chatham, and Robert (Jennifer) Arvin of St. Louis, Mo. Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rick Arvin.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Memorial services will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m.
