The Community Hospital of Staunton brought in two truck loads of donations to the Helping Hands Center. Employees did a drive concentrating on the hygiene category. Thank you to FFA and SHS Student Council for joining forces for the Fill-the-Bucket Challenge. The student body was challenged to fill the bucket of the FFA tractor with personal hygiene items that were donated to Helping Hands. Students and teachers rose to the challenge and filled the bucket and two wheelbarrows.
On behalf of H&R Block, Shannon Bequette delivered gift certificates that were passed out to guests at the Helping Hands Center just in time for the holiday season. This was a creative way to help the community.
Alyssa Ridens and Sara Meyer deliver a check to the Staunton Helping Hands Center on behalf of the Staunton Fire Protection District.
The community helped to donate canned items during the Christmas Walk, Snack With Santa, and the Grinch Fun Run/Walk. Delivering to the SHHC were Matthew Cisler and Drew Stiegemeier. Community support is the backbone to a thriving food pantry.
