70th Wedding Anniversary

Raymond and Dorothy Arzig Stoddard of Mt. Olive celebrated their 70th anniversary on Jan. 12, 2022.

The couple was married on Jan. 12, 1952, at the home of Eugene “Jeep” and Dolores “Pete” Niehaus of rural Litchfield by Rev. Karl Heuchert.

Raymond then served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. His military service included a tour of duty in Korea. He was employed by the Olin Corporation for 42 1/2 years prior to his retirement.

Ray and Dorothy became the parents of two children, Donald “Don” who is now deceased and Carol. In addition to their family, is a son-in-law, Dan Pinkerton and a grandson Daniel Pinkerton II.

Dorothy is a homemaker. She also enjoys growing different varieties of flowers. They enjoyed gardening in their younger days. A special family dinner will be held at a later date.
