This week's photo was taken at the Staunton railroad station in October of 1917. World War I began in July of 1914 and ended in 1918.
The size of this crowd leads us to believe they were waiting for a troop train and had gathered there to give their men a hero's welcome home from the war or were waiting to send off recruits.
