Caidy Tuetken is MVP Staunton's Caidy Tuetken was named MVP of the Winterfest Tournament at Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School in Centralia last week.
The Staunton Lady Bulldogs were on the road Dec. 27-30 for the Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Winterfest Tournament and ended the trip by bringing home the championship trophy.
They won the first game Dec. 27 with a score of 48-14. On Dec. 28 they defeated Dupo 64-37. On Dec. 29, they guaranteed their way into the championship game with another win, this time defeating Anna-Jonesboro 37- 27.
The Dec. 30 game was a thrilling victory for the Lady Bulldogs as they edged out Father McGivney 38-37 for the tournament championship.
The Lady Bulldogs had three players make the All-Tournament team including
Ele Feldmann and Haris Legendre with Caidy Tuetken being selected as Tournament MVP.
Box scores and individual stats were not available.
The girls were scheduled for a rematch at home vs. Father McGivney on Jan. 3. After that they are scheduled to be at Hillsboro on Jan. 6; home vs. Carrollton Jan. 11 and at Southwestern Jan. 13.
