Hainaut

Sharon Kay Hainaut, 69, of rural New Douglas, Ill., died on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at her residence. She was born on June 15, 1952, in Litchfield, the daughter of the late John Robert and Mildred Marie (Brakhane) Leetham. She married Edward W. Hainaut on March 28, 2015, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston. He survives.

Sharon worked, loved to travel, and was very proud of being an airline stewardess for 10 years with TWA (Trans World Airlines). She also worked as a travel agent, in real estate, and was a phone operator and clerk for First National Bank of Staunton. Sharon retired in 2018 and spent some quality time with her husband and family. She had attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston and the Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton. Sharon enjoyed going to the movies, traveling and RV camping with her husband, and she really enjoyed the Christmas season.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Edward W. Hainaut; granddaughter, who she treated like a daughter, Brianna Hainaut; stepson, Edward (Lori) Hainaut, and their two children, Ben and Zack; stepdaughter, Nikki (Victor) Lopez; sister, Debbie (Jerry) Prosser, brothers, Robert Leetham (partner Brad), Roger (Dawn) Leetham, and Rodney (Cynthia) Leetham; sister, Karen Burdell; sister-in-law, Odette (Hal) Henschen; and aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.

It was Sharon's wishes and that of her family that her body be cremated. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Sharon's brother, Rev. Rodney Leetham officiating.
