Cunningham

Larry Louis Cunningham, 80, of Alton, Ill., formerly of Gillespie, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at River Crossing of Alton with his family by his side. Larry was born on May 19, 1941, in Sorento, a son of Louis and Margaret (Radae) Cunningham. He married Judith Ann Wilson on Oct. 14, 1961. She survives.

Larry graduated from Gillespie High School in 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Larry retired as a supervisor from Monsanto. He was avid car enthusiast and collector. He celebrated his 80th birthday with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judith Cunningham of Alton; his daughter, Leigh Ann (Eric) McRoy of Alton; grandson, Drew McRoy (fiancé, Erin Hediger) of Alton; sisters, Joyce Bertoldi of Gillespie, Eleanor Veschak of Benld; brother, Ronald "Timer" Cunningham of Gillespie; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David "Dell" Cunningham; his nephew and godson, James Taylor; and two nephews, Bill Bertoldi and Mark Veschak.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.
