Braman

Rev. Larry C. Braman, Sr., 82, of Staunton, Ill., died on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at his residence. He was born on July 17, 1939, in Ravenden Springs, Ark., the son of the late William Marion and Linnie Francis (Patterson) Braman. He married Vivian Patricia "Pat" Brewsaugh on Oct. 8, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., and she preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2018.

He worked as an auto worker for General Motors for 30 years, then went into full-time ministry. In addition to pastoring at several area Baptist churches, the most recent being First General Baptist Church of Staunton, he and his wife Pat also spent a year as missionaries in Jamaica. He was a current member at Net Community Church in Staunton.

Survivors include four children, Larry Braman Jr. of Staunton, Lisa (Steve) Worley of Staunton, Richard Braman of Staunton, and Randy (Pam) Braman of Staunton; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Reva Sue Braman; brother, William Braman; and sisters, Violet Jordan, Mabel Tangle, and Sylvia in infancy.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, Jan. 3, at Net Community Church of Staunton. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday at the church with Pastor Charles Linhart officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to either Net Community Church of Staunton or to the family.
