The Staunton High School Lady Bulldogs basketball team began their 2021-22 season with a very successful 7-2 overall record as of Dec. 10.
They opened their season with three non-conference games, winning 2 of 3, before entering the tournament in Litchfield. In tournament play, they won 3 of 4 games.
On Dec. 6, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Roxana (44-23) in another non-conference game.
In their first conference game of the season, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Carlinville (40-28).
This week, they were to play at home vs. (conference) Pana on Monday, Dec. 13; then home vs. South Fork Wednesday, Dec. 15, and home vs. Auburn on Thursday, Dec. 16 (both non-conference).
The girls will be competing in the Christ Our Rock Lutheran School (Centralia) Tournament Dec. 27-30.
