J.D. Vazzi, 66, of Staunton, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 7, at his residence. He was born Feb. 9, 1955, in Staunton, a son of the late Frank L. and Elizabeth (Straub) Vazzi. He married Rhonda Hoffman on May 21, 1975, and she survives.
J.D. was a carpenter with Local #664 in St. Louis, Mo., for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Vazzi of Staunton; two children, Kristine (Mike) Pinson of Worden, Donnie Vazzi of Denver, Colo .; three grandchildren, Ashton Vazzi, Alyssa Pinson, Wyatt Pinson; three brothers, Frank (Sheryl) Vazzi of Staunton, Jim Vazzi of Hillsboro, Bob Vazzi of Savannah, Ga .; one sister, Lisa (Derek) Steinmeyer of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald A. Vazzi.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. at Mr. T’s in Staunton.
