Fleming, Tawfall & Co., PC, open for business in Staunton

Fleming, Tawfall & Co., PC, had its beginning over 50 years ago with Dave Fleming; he then bought out Tawfull, hence the name was born. The original two owners have retired and now the business is owned by four partners – Andrea Margaritis, Tom Smith, Gerald Williams and Brenda Master-Stout.

Margaritis can be found at both the Staunton and Litchfield offices, Smith is located in Carlinville, and Williams and Master-Stout are both based in Litchfield.

The Staunton office is located at 100 E. Main Street and currently employs five workers in addition to Margaritis. They are Lindsey Schmollinger, Jaimee Joiner, Etta Morgan, Stephanie Heffron and Vi Fiori. They offer tax planning, financial statements, tax returns, bookkeeping and payroll, with a concentration on small businesses. They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will have extended hours during tax season.

They decided to establish a Staunton office when Cindy Hundley sold her operation, seeing a good opportunity for growth in the community while making it easier to communicate with their existing business customers in Staunton. The move also allowed more space for their existing employees.

Margaritis resides in Staunton, so she was happy to head up the local office.

"We are very glad to be here," she stated, "and look forward to developing new business relationships with the small business owners in the area, while continuing to serve our existing customers."
