Steven Leo Masinelli, 73, of Memphis, Tenn., was born May 23, 1948, in Litchfield, Ill., and died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at Allenbrooke Nursing Home in Memphis. Favorably known as Big Steve, he will always be remembered as a funny, genuine and a caring person. He was happiest being the center of attention with his wise-guy comments.
Steve graduated from SIUE with a bachelor's degree in communications and worked in sales throughout his professional life. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and over the years lived in Illinois, Texas, Georgia and Tennessee.
He is survived by his son, Paul Masinelli; brother, Mike Masinelli; sister, Linda Masinelli; sister-in-law, Judy Masinelli; and many relatives of the Asher and Masinelli families. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Masinelli; mother, Jean Masinelli; brothers, Rod Masinelli, Terry Masinelli; and his best friend, Len Scheibal.
