    The Staunton girls track team was one of 17 teams competing in the IHSA Class 1A TRG Sectional Meet held Thursday, May 12, in Gillespie. Litchfield had the strongest showing with 99 team points followed by Virden with 69 points. The Staunton girls won 19 team points. Grace Bekeske had a great day both as a member of relay teams and in individual events.     Even though it was an extremely hot day for May the Staunton Country Club Ladies League had a good turnout. The low gross was a tie between the teams of Barb Augustine and Kathryn Young and Rosemarie Pickerill and Linda Rohe. Rosemarie and Linda also had low putts. In the Men’s Division, Virden (North Mac) took first place with 173 points followed by Carlinville, 139.75; Southwestern, 72.5; Gillespie, 71; Staunton, 70.75; and Bunker Hill, 18.
