    The Staunton boys' soccer team ended its regular season with two losses this week against SCC opponent Carlinville and former SCC opponent Roxana on Senior Night. The team fought hard in both matches, but found itself on the unlucky side when it needed the ball to bounce their way. On the good side, the team received a favorable draw in the IHSA playoffs and took care of its first-round opponent Metro East Lutheran.     Vandalia continued their path to the playoffs Friday night by winning their Homecoming game vs. Staunton 48-12. The Bulldogs were the first to score with just under 8 minutes left in the first quarter. Cody Ury completed a pass to Braden Buffington good for 18 yards and a Bulldog TD.     The Staunton girls volleyball team traveled to Carlinville Thursday, Sept. 29, and defeated the Lady Cavaliers in two sets of 25-21.     The Staunton Lions Club annual Halloween parade will return on Sunday, Oct. 30, after a two-year hiatus. The first two were at home against Pleasant Plains and Hillsboro, and the latter two were on the road at North Mac and Breese Central.
