    The 2023 Spring Season concluded with the Staunton Bulldogs Trap Team traveling to Mason, Michigan July 7th-9th to compete in the USA Clay Target League's National Tournament. Teams and individuals must qualify, based on their season averages, in order to compete in this tournament. The competition begins with 240 qualifying squads and 1,800 qualifying individuals from across the nation.     It was a beautiful day at the SCC. The grounds being in such good condition made it easy golfing. Sue Stiegemeier and Linda Rohe had low gross with a 38. The low net was the team of Bev Kramer and Deb McNaughton with a 22. The low putts was Sue and Linda (12). Sue also had a birdie on #2 and Sue and Linda had a chip-in. All the teams did really well.     Another great day at the Staunton Country Club for the women's league. The low gross was the team of Sue Stiegemeier and Karen Crosslin (41). The low net was the team of Rosemarie Pickerill and Linda Rohe (20). Bev Kramer and Martha Riley had a chip-in on #6 and low putts (10).     The Staunton Junior High track team had 10 athletes compete at the 2023 Class 3A/4A State Track and field meet in East Peoria May 19 and 20. On Friday, Lacie Edwards competed in the 100m dash, made it to the finals, and won 7th overall to receive a state medal with a time of 13.36.     On May 13, the Staunton Baseball Softball League (SBSL) dedicated new scoreboards on Field 1 and Field 2 at Staunton Baseball Park during the annual opening day ceremony. The scoreboards are LED lit and can be operated with wireless controllers which can be checked out by coaches or any parent scorekeeper at the concession stand during any baseball or softball game played on these fields.
