By Tom Emery Several area high school basketball teams will participate in a sixteen-team shooutout to honor the legacy of a beloved area broadcaster. The fifth annual T. Todt Shootout vs. Cancer event will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, at Litchfield High School, and will feature five boys’ and three girls’ games. Youth between the ages of ten and 17 who would like to participate in the annual Central Illinois Youth Goose Hunt sponsored by the IDNR can register now for the event, which is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2024. Nov. 24, marks 100 years since Staunton beat Gillespie 233-0, setting multiple state scoring records that still stand.
