Irene Louise Gorenz, 94, of rural Alhambra, Ill., died on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at her residence. She was born on Wednesday, April 10, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Pezdek) Pirok. She married John H. Gorenz on Oct. 4, 1952, in Livingston. Gean B. Gregory, 79, of Alhambra, Ill., formerly of Staunton, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Troy. He was born on Monday, May 29, 1944, in Mangum, Okla., the son of Connie and Helen Gregory. On June 20, 1969, he married Eleanor L. Gregory nee Christin, who survives. Gean was drafted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. During his military time he served as a medic in Auxburg and Berlin, Germany, where part of his role was aiding in relief efforts following a devastating earthquake. She was born April 27, 1935, in West Prairie, Ill., the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Laura Elizabeth (Swank) Sawyer. She married Donald Douglas Brown on Nov. 24, 1951, at the Christian Church in Gillespie, and he survives. Vernon F. "Blote" Blotevogel, 91, of Worden, Ill., died on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, at The Glenwood in Staunton. He was born March 31, 1932, in Worden, the son of the late George and Bertha (Pieper) Blotevogel. He married Lois A. Brakhane, and she preceded him in death on May 20, 1987.
