The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Director Dr. Sameer Vohra has signed a standing order allowing trained personnel in Illinois schools to use “undesignated” asthma inhalers on hand to treat students who develop respiratory distress. Undesignated medications are those that are not prescribed for a specific student but can be used in an emergency to address any student’s symptoms related to asthma or other respiratory issues. The Wolf Ridge Color Fun Run will be on Saturday, April 27, 2024 and it will start at 8 a.m. at Bunker Hill's Municipal Building located at 801 S. Franklin, in Bunker Hill, Ill. 62014. The 2023 SamJam BBQ & Boogie, which was held on November 18 at Rustic Venues near Girard, generated a donation of $10,000 to Neurofibromatosis (NF) Midwest. The event was created in 2014 in honor of Sam Oswald, a Carlinville resident who has battled NF since being diagnosed at age four.
