    By Adam Pennock, Fire Chief, The Litchfield Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 4:51 am on Monday 4/29/2024 at 612 N Harrison. Upon arrival, the on-duty Captain observed a large glow and the response was upgraded to a Full Still.     Process Could Last Throughout The Month Of May The Staunton Water Treatment Plant will be flushing fire hydrants starting Wednesday, May 1, 2024 and it could potentially last all month. Residents may experience discolored water and low water pressure. If staining occurs in laundry, a cleaning product can be obtained at the City Clerk's Office to assist in the removal of stains.     Macoupin County State's Attorney Jordan J. Garrison announced on April 24, 2024 the sentencing of a local man. Austin M. Frayer, (25), of Gillespie, was sentenced by the Honorable Joshua A. Meyer to 12.5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for the offense of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class X felony.
