Mia Rhodes is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who was raised in Staunton by her parents, Don and Patty Stefani. She attended Staunton High School and graduated with the class of 2012. Not deterred, she continued her pursuit of education in Nursing. She first graduated in 2015 from Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish College with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. The Staunton Helping Hands Center is thankful for the donations and support from the community. The SHHC continues to keep stable inventory and volunteers, making it possible to serve anyone in the community with food insecurity. In addition to celebrating the recently received donations, there is also excitement that the GED program celebrated 6 graduates this season. It was a hot and humid day but the SCC women's golf league were all glad to get together after missing golf the week before. The low gross was the team of Rosemarie Pickerill and Linda Rohe. Pickerill and Rohe also tied for low putts with the team of Martha Riley and Kathryn Young. Young scored a birdie on hole No. 6. The low net was the team of Linda Best and Bev Kramer. The Staunton High School will have their parent/player meetings on Aug. 1 and Aug. 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. On Saturday, Aug. 3, at Dorchester's Homecoming celebration, a 50-year old Kittenball reunion will take place at 5:15 p.m. The following 16 teams are welcome to participate: Heyen's; Staunton Hi-Robo; Area Merchants; Livingston Pies; Quality Motors; New Douglas; and the rest of the 10 teams. Overview 1980-1989 The 1980s witnessed the emergence of basketball (boys) and volleyball (girls) as the marquee sports programs at Staunton High School.
