The Staunton Chamber of Commerce and the City of Staunton has announced that Lynn and Nancy Neuhaus are the 2022 Staunton Citizens of the Year. The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Internal Investigation (DII) continues its investigation into an officer involved shooting in Litchfield. Girl Scout Troop 6106 will be hosting family friendly holiday trivia night in the Staunton School District's multipurpose room on Saturday, Dec. 10. Troop 6106 are seniors in high school from Staunton, Mt. Olive, and Litchfield. They have been in Girl Scouts together since many were in kindergarten and are raising money for their final troop trip to London next summer. Doors open at 5:30. Robert Everett Eickmeyer, 74, of St. Louis, Mo., died on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis. Robert was born on July 2, 1948, the son of the late Everett and Helen (Grosenheider) Eickmeyer of Mt. Olive, Ill. He served in the United States Navy in Vietnam from 1966-1972. Thomas W. Schulze, 65, of Jerseyville, Ill., died at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Mo., on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. He was born Feb. 17, 1957, in Wood River to Albert F. and Betty (Pace) Schulze. Lois Kay Bidwell, 72, of Bunker Hill, Ill., died at her residence on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. She was born Aug. 3, 1950. She married Gary L. Bidwell on Feb. 22, 2004, in Hazelwood, Mo., and he survives. She worked in sales. She enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, cooking and being with family. Lois also loved flowers.
