We made it to Dec. The calendar months go by faster and faster each passing year. Youth between the ages of ten and 17 who would like to participate in the annual Central Illinois Youth Goose Hunt sponsored by the IDNR can register now for the event, which is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2024. Macoupin County ranked high on the charts once again statewide for the amount of deer harvested in the first weekend of the Ill. firearm deer season between Nov. 17-19. Illinois Extension and 4-H recently welcomed Jessica Jaffry to its statewide network of youth development educators who provide evidence-based hands-on learning programs to youth to help them explore opportunities and acquire life skills. Lewis and Clark Community College Nursing Club students hosted a Winter Clothing Drive and Giveaway event for their fellow students this month. Hundreds of clothing donations were collected from students, faculty and staff alike, and laid out by size and type, including items for all ages and even some summer clothes.
