Bahn Sharon Scholl began her life and grew up in West Virginia. She obtained her teaching degree from West Virginia University. In 1950 Sharon met the love of her life, Joe Bahn of Staunton, Illinois. At that time, she was working for KMOX radio in St. Louis. A short while later, they were married and Joe took Sharon to live with him in Staunton. Joe and his brother Gene owned and managed Bahn’s Super Valu. The Staunton High School girls basketball team competed in the Litchfield Invitational last week. In their first round on Nov. 22, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Southwestern 49-29. The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) recently announced that in the coming weeks, unemployment insurance benefit payments will no longer be made by debit card. Beginning Dec. 27, 2021, claimants who defaulted to a debit card option as their preferred method of payment will begin receiving paper checks instead of the benefits being placed on a debit card.
