    Experience the true meaning of Christmas through a reenactment of the Bible’s Luke chapter 2, the birth of Jesus, on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. The program begins in a heated shed before following the shepherds to the manger scene complete with live animals underneath the night sky.     The second annual Meet and Greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Livingston Grocery Store, 421 Livingston Ave., Livingston.     The Women’s Council of St. Michael's Catholic Church will be sponsoring a Holiday Country Store and a 50/50 drawing in the school gymnasium on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from this country store and 50/50 drawing will go to the various charitable activities sponsored by the Women's Council.     Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 52,354 deer during the first weekend of the Illinois firearm deer season Nov. 18-20. Comparatively, hunters took 48,964 deer during the first firearm weekend in 2021. Illinois’ seven-day firearm deer season will conclude Dec. 1-4.     The Staunton Terriers were recently crowned champions of the Gillespie Tournament. Staunton opened play on Saturday, Nov. 12, against Southwestern with a 31-19 victory. Cale Dugger and Paxton Brown paced the squad with 10 points each, while Kaiden Linkeman (9 pts.) and Blaine Sievers (2 pts.) rounded out the scoring.
