On Friday the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 22,600 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 129 additional deaths since reporting on Nov. 5. Congratulations to the Staunton High School scholastic bowl team for their wins at the Southwestern Novice Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 6. This Saturday, Nov. 20, local scout troops will be collecting food items for the annual Scouting for Food campaign. If you haven't received a bag at your house and would like to make a donation, food can be dropped off at the Cisler Real Estate office or it can be dropped off on Saturday between 9 and 11 a.m. at the scout building at 121 N. At the November Macoupin County Board meeting, the county's voting precincts were rebalanced to get to a more equal number of voters by a unanimous, bipartisan vote. Instead of the 61 precincts used in the 2021 election, the upcoming June 28th Primary Election will see 45 precincts.
