    On Nov. 2, the Staunton Retired Teachers Association met for lunch and meeting at R&B’s Restaurant. The meeting was presided over by Emmlee Vezzoli Robinson, who for many years has been the organization’s president. Since the onset of COVID, she has also acted, without complaint, as treasurer, information officer, and secretary as well. The meeting ended by the unanimous decision to dissolve the local chapter, the only one remaining in Illinois.     The Nov. 3 Staunton Senior Citizens meeting was called to order by President Gerry Cook with 26 members in attendance. The meeting started with the Lord's Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance being said by all. The minutes and the treasurer reports for the two meetings in October were read and approved. Judy Hampton gave out information regarding the holiday luncheon catered by R&B's which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17, and will start at 12 noon.     St. Paul UCC in Staunton is hosting a trivia night and silent auction on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Concordia Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and play commences at 6:30. The cost is $15 per person for teams up to eight people.   • SHS clay target league completed fall season

    The Staunton High School trap and skeet teams successfully completed five weeks of competition in the Illinois State High School Clay Target League's 2022 fall season. The fall league for trap shooting included 31 high school teams from across the state. These 31 teams were assigned to five conferences based on the size of the team.     Nov. 1-4 - The Staunton Terriers began their season on Nov. 1 at Mt. Olive. The 8th grade Terriers shot out to a 27-2 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 48-15 victory. Luke Moore (15 points) and Owen Looney (11 points) both notched double figures for SJHS, while Jeremiah Graham (8 points), Ty Simpson (6 points), Isiah Laux (4 points), and Owen Rizzi (4 points) completed the scoring.
