The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is an- nouncing two new COVID-19 oral antivirals, Paxlovid (Pfizer) and Molnupiravir (Merck), will be available in Illinois later this month. The antivirals are for those with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 who are at high risk for becoming severely ill, including hospitalization or death. With extreme cold temperatures occurring across the state, Illinois American Water is reminding homeowners to take steps to prevent frozen pipes. During these cold temps: • Allow a small trickle of water to run overnight to keep pipes from freezing. Richard Edwin Belovich, 84, of Litchfield, Ill., died at Heritage Health of Litchfield, on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022. He was born May 5, 1937, at home in East Gillespie, to Joseph and Barbara (Gavrun) Belovich. He married Alma Billiter in 1957, and she preceded him in death in 2004. Jim J. Ulrich, 88, of Staunton, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born Aug. 8, 1933, in New Douglas, he was a son of the late Irvin and Helen (Shields) Ulrich.
