The Staunton City Council waived the first reading and approved an ordinance on Monday night that sets the gears in motion for a truck stop and convenience store to be constructed by Meyer Oil Company. A Staunton man, George D. Redenius, age 82, was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday, Oct. 18, after his car was struck by a Hino truck that ran a red light at a West Alton intersection. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 67 at Richard Drive.
