    The Staunton School Board met in regular session on Mon- day, Sept. 26, and discussed the use of the church property and parsonage on North Frank- lin Street. The property was donated to the school district earlier this year. In order to use the buildings safely, asbestos abatement will be necessary.     Macoupin County State's Attorney Jordan J. Garrison announced on Thursday that Dalton M.K. Obermark was sentenced by the Honorable Joshua A. Meyer to 40 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the murder of John "J.B." Rennie of Virden. Obermark previously pleaded guilty to one count of first degree murder on July 12, 2022. In exchange for the plea in July, the state agreed to cap their recommended sentence at 40 years. Garrison announced Monday, Oct. 3, that 31-year-old Chancey Hutson of Granite City was sentenced to 46 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Joshua A.
