The Staunton Varsity Boys High School team went 1 and 2 this week visiting the Hiltoppers at Hillsboro and hosting the North Mac Panthers and Breese Central Cougars for Homecoming. The Staunton Bulldogs pretty much maintained control during their Homecoming Football Game vs the Gillespie Miners on Friday Sept. 22 and nailed down their 38 - 16 victory. The SJHS Boys Baseball team is headed to East Peoria for the Class 2A State Baseball Series after winning their Sectional against Auburn 10-0 on Saturday. The boys will be taking their 14-0 record to the tourney on Friday, where they will play St. Joseph at Noon. The boys are lead by Head Coach, Devin Ray, and assistant coach, Ryan Best. The annual Owl Prowl and Weiner Roast will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 4-7 p.m. The fire-pit will be ready at 4 p.m. so bring your own hot dogs, buns, drinks, and a dish or two to share.
