    The City of Staunton will host their first ever Strassenfest this Saturday, Sept. 17, right on Staunton’s Main Street.     By Kelly Costa During Monday night’s city council meeting, Alderman Rick Johnson announced that city officials will be walking door to door in Ward 3 collecting water grant information. The state of Illinois requires a minimum response rate of 80 percent to qualify for the grant. The city is asking for help by answering the door and providing the limited information requested.     St. Paul United Church of Christ, located at the corner of Union and Mill streets, will host a pet blessing on Saturday, Sept. 17, during the flea market from 9 to 10 a.m. Pets of all kinds are welcome and must be leashed or in a carrier. She was born Dec. 3, 1960, in Staunton, Ill., the daughter of Joan (Butler) Yaeger and the late Richard Yaeger. She married Gerald Boyd, and he survives. Terry graduated from Staunton High School in 1966 and then attended SIUE. Until 1969, Terry lived and worked in St. Louis teaching private piano lessons and playing piano at bar mitzvahs, weddings and funerals.     Thursday, Oct. 18, 1990 -- Hospital employees Funfest -- On October 3rd, the Employee Activities Committee held a Funfest at the hospital. Drawings were held every hour and prizes, which were donated by area businesses, were given to the lucky winners. Barbecue pork steaks were prepared for lunch and the employees furnished the covered dishes, desserts, etc. After lunch, a 50/50 drawing was won by Wilma Korunka.
