The friends of the Gillespie Public Library invite you to attend a free presentation by Mark Pierce, author of his book “When the Stars Came Out”, the story of the Mississippi River Festival. The program is on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Gillespie Public Library, located at 201 West Chestnut in Gillespie. It was a beautiful day golfing at the SCC on Thursday. We cancelled the preceding last Thursday due to the extreme heat. The low gross was the team of Linda Best and Rosemarie Pickerill. Linda and Rosemarie also had low putts. The low net team was Barb Augustine and Denise Hemphill. Barb and Denise also had a chip on #9. Kim prepared a wonderful lunch for us.
