Issue of Aug. 28, 1997 Teachers at Staunton Public Schools went through a program done by an undercover agent that taught them how to spot drug users in the classroom. The Staunton boys’ soccer team started the season with back-to-back wins against Carlyle and Athens before dropping its first match against Springfield Lutheran Tuesday. It was a great day for golfing for the Staunton Country Club Ladies Golf League. The low gross was the team of Sue Stiegemeier, Martha Riley and Barb Augustine. They had a 39 and also low putts of 10. There was a tie for the low net between the teams of Karen Crosslin, Bev Kramer and Rosemarie Pickerill and Linda Rohe with a 20.
